BAGUIO CITY — The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) reported a generally peaceful celebration of Christmas 2025, with zero firecracker-related incidents recorded from December 24 to 25 and no major untoward incidents throughout the holiday period.

According to BCPO, peace and order remained manageable as residents and tourists gathered in churches, homes, and public spaces across the city.

Police attributed the calm situation to strengthened safety, traffic, and crowd-management strategies implemented during the holiday rush.

Authorities highlighted the effective use of Bakasyon Lanes, the BCPO View Baguio App, and key operational plans such as OPLAN D.R.I.V.E. and IMPLAN KALMANG PAGLALAKBAY, which helped ensure smoother traffic flow, increased police visibility, and faster response to incidents, particularly in crowded areas, transport terminals, and major thoroughfares.

“The generally peaceful Christmas 2025 celebration, with zero firecracker incidents, reflects the strong commitment of the BCPO, the City LGU, and the community to safety and discipline,” said BCPO Director PCOL Ruel D. Tagel.

Tagel added that the BCPO will maintain heightened alertness as the city transitions into New Year celebrations, urging the public to remain vigilant and strictly observe safety advisories and existing local ordinances.
