NEW CLARK CITY, Philippines — The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has entered a strategic partnership with Esyasoft Technologies Asia to modernize the Philippines’ energy landscape through sustainable and future-ready power systems.

The collaboration, formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed April 27, 2026, aims to bolster energy security and support the BCDA’s “smart city” agenda for New Clark City and other managed properties.

Under the agreement, BCDA and Esyasoft will explore the deployment of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

These systems are designed to enhance grid stability, optimize energy consumption, and facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources into the national power grid.

“This kind of infrastructure is more than physical development. It is about building systems that improve the daily lives of the public we serve,” said Joshua M. Bingcang, BCDA president and chief executive officer.

The initiative aligns with the Marcos administration’s push for infrastructure modernization and a resilient energy sector.

Bingcang noted that the move is a direct response to the national government’s directive to advance clean energy solutions.

Madhususan Sreedharan, Esyasoft Technologies Southeast Asia CEO, highlighted the global demand for high-capacity storage solutions.

“We are aiming for a major battery energy storage solution in the Philippines,” Sreedharan said.

As part of the framework, BCDA will assist Esyasoft in conducting feasibility studies to determine the technical and commercial viability of energy transition investments.

The partnership also includes regular consultations and joint project exploration to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

New Clark City is currently being positioned as a premier investment hub for industries requiring reliable, sustainable power, making the integration of innovative energy solutions a critical component of its development.
