
BAGUIO CITY — Police arrested a 37-year-old alleged Street Level Individual in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Palma Urbano, where he was caught selling a sachet of suspected shabu weighing 2.4 grams and valued at ₱16,320.00, the Police Regional Office–Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) reported on Monday.
The joint operation was carried out by Police Station 6, the City Intelligence Unit, the City Drug Enforcement Unit, and Police Station 5 of the Baguio City Police Office.
The suspect was immediately taken into custody, while the seized evidence was turned over to BCPO Station 6 for documentation and proper disposition.
He will be charged for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PRO-CAR also reported separate anti-drug operations in Benguet on December 8, where police and anti-narcotics teams uprooted and burned a total of 6,600 fully grown marijuana plants worth ₱1,320,000.00 in Standard Drug Price.
The eradication operations were jointly conducted by personnel of the Kibungan and Bakun Municipal Police Stations, 1st Benguet Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Provincial Intelligence Unit, the Regional Intelligence Division, Regional Intelligence Unit 14, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–CAR.
The plantations were discovered in Barangay Tacadang, Kibungan, and in Barangays Kayapa and Sinacbat, Bakun.
Investigators are continuing efforts to locate additional marijuana cultivation sites and identify individuals behind the illegal plantations.
