Filipino food content creator Abi Marquez has achieved another milestone as she becomes the first-ever finalist from the Philippines in The Lovie Awards, Europe’s top honors for excellence in digital culture, technology, and business.
Marquez, known internationally for her inventive food videos, was named a finalist in two categories under Social-Creator Excellence: Best Creator and Best Series.
Her nomination for Best Series comes from her viral “Lumpia” content, where she crafted a lumpia dish inspired by Chef Gordon Ramsay’s iconic Beef Wellington.
The Lovie Awards are presented by the European arm of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), the same 3,000+ member organization behind The Webby Awards.
Each year, the awards celebrate creators and innovators shaping the digital landscape across Europe.
Notable IADAS members include Charlotte O’Sullivan of Chloé, Ibrahim Seck of Monks Paris, Jade Coles of Apple, Stefanos Constantinou of Highsnobiety, Bridget Arsenault of Air Mail, Michelle Lu of Semaine, and Ben Silvertown of Lapse.
Marquez shared her excitement over the recognition:
“I’m honored that the work that I’ve been doing has spread beyond the Philippines and has become part of internet culture and everyday life for more people. Filipino food and our food culture deserve to be on the global stage, and I’m glad to be recognized for telling stories about our cuisine and food culture. Let’s get this win for the Philippines!”
NYMA Chief Operating Officer Kat Bautista said the nominations signal a growing appetite in Europe for Filipino food content.
“This honor reflects the growing interest in Filipino culture in Europe, and we’re excited that more people are appreciating Abi’s work. Creators like Abi show that the path forward for the creator economy in the Philippines is to combine their love and passion for a subject with dedication to their craft, their industry, and their love for learning. We hope to see Filipinos rally around Abi and help us get this win for her and for Filipino food culture.”
As a finalist, Marquez is also eligible for the People’s Lovie Award, where fans worldwide can vote online by creating an account through the Lovie Awards website.
Separate links are provided for Best Creator and Best Series.
Voting runs from October 1–16, 2025, with winners to be announced on November 6, 2025.
