Mark Agcaoile’s foot-drawn portraits go on display in Baguio
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Artist Mark Bernardo Agcaoile is showcasing a collection of detailed portraits and drawings made with his feet at SM City Baguio, giving visitors a chance to view his work and learn about his development as an artist.
Agcaoile, from Ilagan City, Isabela, began drawing with his feet after meningitis at age 11 affected his ability to use his hands and speak, SM Supermalls said.
Over the years, drawing became a form of artistic expression that he continued to develop through practice and persistence.
According to SM, his work has since been presented to audiences in different venues, including art exhibits in Baguio.
His latest exhibit at SM City Baguio features detailed portraits and other drawings produced using his feet.
The exhibit also highlights the role of community spaces in giving local artists opportunities to present their work to a wider audience.
For Agcaoile, the exhibition represents another opportunity to share his art and the process behind it with the public.
His work demonstrates an individual approach to drawing developed through years of practice.
SM City Baguio said providing space for artists is part of its efforts to support local talent and make art more accessible to the community.
The exhibit is scheduled to run until Oct. 11 at SM City Baguio.
Visitors can view Agcaoile’s works at the mall as part of its ongoing activities supporting local artists and the creative community.
