CLARK FREEPORT ZONE, Pampanga – FedEx has broken ground on the expansion of its Clark gateway facility, a major investment aimed at strengthening regional connectivity and reinforcing the Philippines’ role as a trans-shipment hub within the FedEx Asia Pacific network.

Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go, who joined FedEx executives at the ceremony, said the project will deepen global connectivity and strengthen local trade capabilities, allowing Filipino firms and consumers to reach more markets while enabling foreign traders to access the Philippines.

The modernized facility will span more than 78,000 square meters and feature upgraded cargo handling and operational capabilities to improve shipment flow reliability and service flexibility.

FedEx said the expansion will support express, e-commerce, and freight shipments while bolstering network resilience as cross-border trade continues to grow.

Masamichi Ujiie, president of FedEx North Pacific and South Pacific, said the investment reflects the company’s commitment to building a smarter, more resilient network across the region.

“By enhancing our operational capabilities at Clark, we are better positioned to support Philippine businesses, enable efficient cross-border trade, and provide more reliable connectivity to global markets,” he said.

Construction will begin in the second quarter of 2026, with Robinsons Land Corporation engaged as developer.

Sustainability features include insulated building materials, energy-efficient glazing, LED lighting, skylights, EV charging stations, water-efficient fixtures, rainwater collection, and provisions for future solar deployment.

The project builds on FedEx’s growth in the Philippines, following the opening of its Clark gateway in 2021 and a land lease agreement with Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD) in 2024.
