Filipino-Chinese groups donate 400 sacks of rice to Baguio

BAGUIO CITY — The Filipino at Tsino Magkaibigan Foundation and the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. extended support to Baguio City through a donation of 400 sacks of rice (5 kilograms each) on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.

The donation was formally turned over at the Baguio City Hall, represented by City Administrator Vittorio Jericho Cawis, with the foundation’s representatives Peter Ng and Jeff Ng leading the handover.

According to the city government, the donated rice will be included in the relief operations of the City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWADO), benefitting families and communities in need.

City officials expressed gratitude to the Filipino-Chinese community for their continuing support, highlighting that the donation strengthens the spirit of bayanihan and solidarity during times of need.

This initiative adds to the long-standing partnership between the Filipino and Chinese communities in promoting mutual assistance and community development in Baguio.
