BAGUIO CITY – Authorities confiscated around 160 kilograms of mishandled meat products from the meat section of the Baguio City Public Market on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
The joint operation was carried out by the Health Services Office (HSO), City Veterinary and Agriculture Office (CVAO), City Treasurer’s Office (CTO), and Public Order and Safety Division (POSD).
The confiscated meat, deemed unsafe for consumption, was brought to the City Veterinary Office for proper disposal, according to Animal Products Inspector Elsa Peralta.
Following the seizure, vendors in the area conducted a clean-up operation, including a flushing activity to remove dirt and contaminants, in compliance with sanitation protocols.
City officials urge the public to remain vigilant and only purchase meat products from authorized and compliant vendors to ensure food safety.
