Street-level dealer arrested in Baguio, Php68,000 in drugs seized

BAGUIO CITY – As a result of the intensified anti-illegal drugs operations of the PNP, a street level drug personality was busted and a total of Php68,000.00 worth of illegal drugs were seized in a buy-bust operation conducted in Baguio City on June 21, 2024.

According to reports submitted to Regional Director PBGEN David K. Peredo, Jr., the operation was conducted by joint operatives from the PNP Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit-CAR (PDEG SOU-CAR), Baguio City Police Office Police Station 3, City Intelligence Unit, City Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Regional Intelligence Division of PRO-CAR.

This collaboration resulted in the arrest of a 53-year-old female dress vendor, listed as a Street Level Individual, at a bus terminal in Brgy Marcoville, Baguio City, after she sold one sachet of suspected shabu, weighing approximately 10 grams with a street value of Php68,000, to an undercover operative.

The marking of the evidence recovered was conducted on-site in the presence of the arrested suspect and witnessed by media representative Darius Bajo and Barangay Chairman of Marcoville Benjamin Ruel Casuga.

The suspect and the confiscated evidence were brought to the custody of PDEG SOU-CAR for documentation and proper disposition, while charges for violation of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being filed against the suspect.
