
The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) has cautioned the public against the use of counterfeit official receipts (ORs) allegedly issued in connection with transactions involving banks under liquidation.
In an advisory dated September 12, 2025, the PDIC said the fake ORs feature its old logo, contain spelling errors, falsified signatures of personnel, and do not follow the standard format of legitimate PDIC-issued receipts.
The agency clarified that it had officially updated its logo on June 22, 2018.
To avoid fraud, the PDIC urged the public to conduct transactions only with authorized personnel at the PDIC Chino Building located at 2228 Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City.
The public was also encouraged to verify the authenticity of any PDIC-related document by reporting suspicious papers to the PDIC Public Assistance Department through email at pad@pdic.gov.ph, hotline (02) 8841-4141 for Metro Manila callers, toll-free 1-800-1-888-7342 (PDIC) for areas outside Metro Manila, or via direct messages on facebook.com/OfficialPDIC and x.com/OfficialPDIC.
Walk-in clients are likewise accommodated at the PDIC office.
The state-run insurer reaffirmed its commitment to protecting depositors not only through deposit insurance coverage but also by promoting transparency in all its operations.
