Mass Wedding in Baguio approaches on September 2

BAGUIO CITY – The local government of Baguio has extended an invitation to couples seeking to formalize their union in a memorable and unique way.

In a recent statement released by the City Public Information Office, the city announced plans for a Mass Wedding scheduled for September 2, 2023, as part of the upcoming Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism (HRT) Week.

The Baguio Country Club, in collaboration with the Baguio City government, will host the Mass Wedding event at the SM Sky Terraces, commencing at 9:00 AM.

An exciting highlight of the celebration is the unveiling of what promises to be the city’s largest wedding cake, a sweet symbol of shared joy and commitment for the participating couples.

Couples wishing to take part in this grand celebration of love are required to submit a set of documents to ensure a smooth and organized event.

The necessary documents include the following:

  • an original copy of the marriage license issued by the Local Civil Registrar (LCR)
  • photocopies of pre-marriage counseling or seminar certificates issued by the Health Services Office (HSO)
  • the birth certificates and Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) for both the bride and groom-to-be, issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)

For Baguio residents, an additional requirement is a tree planting certificate from the City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO).

The city is emphasizing its commitment to environmental sustainability by incorporating this unique element into the Mass Wedding event.

Furthermore, couples are requested to provide proof of payment of the solemnization fee, which amounts to P500.00, to the City Mayor’s Office.
