Dependent of late PCpl Padawil granted BPFI Scholarship Award

PLTCOL Tagel joins BPFI Scholarship Awarding Ceremony honoring fallen officer's dependent

PASAY CITY, Philippines — In a heartfelt ceremony that paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Philippine National Police (PNP) uniformed personnel, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB15) acting force commander Ruel D. Tagel, attended the Bayaning Pulis Foundation, Inc. (BPFI) Scholarship Awarding Ceremony on Friday, August 18, 2023 held at the Meridian Innovation Center in Pasay City.

The event was graced by PNP deputy chief for Administration (TDCA) Rhodel O. Sermonia, who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

The focal point of the ceremony was the distribution of educational assistance to deserving beneficiaries, among them the dependent of the late PCpl Wilfredo B. Padawil.

PCpl Padawil, a former dedicated member of RMFB15, tragically lost his life during a confrontation with the New People’s Army (NPA) on March, 2019 in Mountain Province.

His legacy of service was honored by the BPFI, recognizing his sacrifice and commitment to upholding peace and security in the country.

Accompanying the dependent of the fallen officer, PLTCOL Tagel stood as a poignant reminder of the dedication and valor that PNP personnel display in the line of duty.

The scholarship program, a collaborative effort between the BPFI and the PNP, aims to provide educational grants to the dependents of PNP uniformed personnel who have either lost their lives or have been permanently incapacitated while serving their duty or due to their official responsibilities.

BPFI, in partnership with the PNP, remains steadfast in its mission to provide educational support to the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation, ensuring that their memory lives on through the pursuit of knowledge and education.
