Former CTG member surrenders with firearm

MOUNTAIN PROVINCE — As part of the continuous conduct of the Anti-Terrorism campaign of the PNP, a former Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) member voluntarily surrendered to Mountain Province Police Provincial Office (PPO) provincial director Sibly P. Dawiguey in Brgy. Bantay, Paracelis, Mountain Province on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.

The former CTG member also surrendered his long firearm to the Inayan cops and was turned over to the Mountain Province PPO for proper documentation and disposition.

In addition, the former CTG member was given financial assistance as part of the E-CLIP program to support Former Rebels who decided to abandon armed struggle and return to the folds of the law. Force Commander Daniel P. Fakat of the 2nd Mountain Province PMFC;  Paracelis Municipal Police Station (MPS) acting station commander Napoleon B. Ledchi; and chief executive senior police officer (CESPO) Gilbert C. Bocolan of the 2nd MPPMFC, were also present to witness the surrender of the said former CTG member.

The surrender was made possible by the joint efforts of the National MPS, 2nd MPPMFC, the Philippine Army, and other units of the Mountain Province PPO who continuously conducted information operations to convince rebels to return to the folds of the law.
