PNP's Adopt a Region Program extends Php700k Relief to Abra

CAMP VILLAMOR, Bangued, Abra — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has once more exemplified the prevalence and thriving spirit of Bayanihan culture among police officers.

This was evident when both the National Headquarters (NHQ) and Police Regional Office IV-A generously donated relief packs to the Police Regional Office – Cordillera (PROCOR) as part of their active participation in the Adopt a Region program initiated by the PNP.

PRO COR regional director David K. Peredo, Jr. received over Php 700,000 worth of relief goods from the NHQ and PRO IV-A during the turn-over ceremony held at Gov. Andres Bernos Hall, Camp Col. Juan Villamor in Calaba, Bangued, Abra on July 29, 2023.

The ceremony was witnessed by personnel of Abra Police Provincial Office (PPO) Headquarters led by Provincial Director Froiland B. Lopez; PRO IV-A personnel led by PCPT Felomino Soriano, Jr.; PCADG personnel led by PCPT Rey Tam Pili; and other PROCOR key officers.

As the highlight of the ceremony, PCPT Soriano, Jr. officially handed over the relief items to PBGEN Peredo, Jr., which will be distributed to the severely affected families in the province.

In his message, the Regional Director conveyed his sincere gratitude to the dedicated men and women of the NHQ and PRO IV-A for choosing PROCOR as the beneficiary of their Adopt a Region program.

“It is better to give than to receive. This is one of the best practices we have in the PNP, yung pagmamahal at pag-aalala sa mga kababayang biktima ng sakuna”, Peredo Jr. said.

Furthermore, the relief goods mentioned were made possible through the PNP Help and Foodbank, which was launched on July 22, 2023.

The event was honored by the presence of Senator Imee Marcos, who graciously served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.
