The main objective of the signed agreement is to provide a safeguard for Koreans residing and conducting business in Baguio City, assuring them of a secure environment.
In return for their anti-criminality efforts, the BCPO and UKCA will collaboratively conduct joint patrols, focusing on areas frequently visited by Korean Nationals and establishments throughout the city.
Furthermore, in an effort to foster better communication and understanding, the Baguio CPO aims to introduce Korean Language Proficiency Classes.
These classes will equip BCPO operatives with basic Korean language skills, facilitating improved interaction with the Korean community.
During the ceremony, PCOL Bulwayan delivered an assuring message, emphasizing the importance of empowering every Korean resident, tourist, or student to report incidents without fear.
He reiterated the BCPO’s commitment to taking every concern seriously and ensuring that appropriate action is taken promptly.
“Our city is encapsulated with vibrant cultures, and the Korean community has enriched our social fabric with its rich heritage, traditions, and contributions to various sectors. Hence, the Baguio police force affirms its commitment to work hand in hand with the UKCA, ensuring that every individual, resident, or visitor here in Baguio feels safe, valued, and protected,” PCOL Bulwayan said.
