LA TRINIDAD, Benguet — In a press briefing held on Monday, October 30, 2023 at the Regional Election Media Action Center in Camp Major Bado Dangwa here, PRO Cordillera regional director David K. Peredo, Jr. conveyed the success of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) 2023 in the Cordillera region, which was marked by a generally peaceful atmosphere.
Addressing the media, PBGEN Peredo emphasized that the commitment of the Cordillera police and other security forces to maintaining a full alert status until the results and winners of the BSKE 2023 are officially proclaimed has been instrumental in ensuring the overall security of the electoral process.
The regional director expressed his appreciation for the support and collaborative efforts of various government agencies in making the election process peaceful and orderly.
Their cooperation was integral to the smooth conduct of BSKE 2023.
“To the communities, thank you for your cooperation. Without your participation in keeping this election peaceful, we are not able to attain our goal,” PBGEN Peredo added, highlighting the pivotal role played by the local communities in the success of the election.
The PNP Media Action Center was established and activated on October 25, 2023 by the Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) of PRO Cordillera, and manned by RPIO personnel headed by RPIO chief Carolina F. Lacuata.
The PNP Media Action Center is co-located with the Regional Election Monitoring Action Center at the PRO Cordillera Log Cabin, Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet.It was created to coordinate with the local Election Monitoring Action Centers established all over the Cordillera region to serve as a line of communication among Public Information Offices, stakeholders, and media partners for the orderly dissemination of information during the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) 2023.
