Police operation nets seven arrests in Kalinga for drug trafficking

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet –Seven individuals are now facing charges for Violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, following their arrest for transporting marijuana bricks valued at over 4.5 million pesos in Kalinga.
 

According to a report received by PRO COR regional director David K. Peredo , Jr., the arrested suspects have been identified as Sandy Legnes, 30; Raymond Nazareno, 33; Michael David, 25; Keneth Christian Sum, 28; Matthew John Milgate, 22; John Ashley Sevilla, 24; and Rhecel Maribojoc, 21.

The report reveals that a joint operation involving anti-illegal drugs operatives from the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Kalinga (PDEA-Kalinga), and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 15 (RMFB15) was immediately conducted in Bulanao Centro, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

The operation was launched after receiving information about a group of individuals who were planning to transport marijuana products from Tinglayan to Tabuk City.

During the operation, the law enforcement units seized a total of 38 bricks of suspected marijuana dried leaves, weighing approximately 38,000 grams, with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 4,560,000.00.

Additionally, two small half-taped-wrapped bricks of suspected marijuana dried leaves and fruiting tops, weighing around 300 grams, with an SDP of Php 36,000.00, as well as one brown paper bag containing suspected dried marijuana leaves and stalks, weighing approximately 10 grams, with an SDP of Php 1,200.00, were confiscated.

The inventory and marking of the recovered evidence were conducted onsite in the presence of the arrested suspects.

The procedure was witnessed by Ms. Lailanie Balao-ing, a representative from the Department of Justice (DOJ), and Brgy. Kagawad Clifford Dinanas from Brgy. Bulanao Centro, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

PROCOR arrests three, seizes Php118K worth of illegal drugs

CAMP DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet — As the Cordillera Regional Police (PROCOR) continues to bolster its anti-illegal drugs campaign, a weeklong operation conducted from June 4 to June 10, 2023, resulted in the arrest of three drug personalities and the confiscation of illegal drugs worth Php 118,580.00.
 

According to records from PROCOR’s Regional Operations Division (ROD), a total of 6.85 grams of shabu, with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 46,580.00, were seized from the suspects.

The apprehended individuals have been identified as Clemente A. Dumalegan, 40; Johny A. Lanna, 38; and Arnel A. Dulagan, 39.

All three are now facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (R.A. 9165).

In a separate anti-illegal drug operation, law enforcement operatives from the Benguet Provincial Police Office (PPO) discovered a marijuana plantation site in Benguet province.

During the operation, 360 fully grown marijuana plants (FGMJP) were found, with an estimated SDP of Php 72,000.00.

The operatives promptly uprooted and burned all the discovered marijuana plants at the site.

Ongoing investigations are underway to identify potential cultivators of the illicit marijuana plantation.

Zero crime incidents in 58 municipalities, 23 arrests made
 

PROCOR continues its unwavering commitment to establishing crime-free communities through an intensified manhunt operation.

In a highly successful weeklong operation from June 4 to 10, 2023, a total of twenty-three (23) wanted personalities were apprehended.

Additionally, fifty-eight (58) municipalities in the region reported zero crime incidents during the same period.

According to records from the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD), the Baguio City Police Office (PPO) and the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) achieved the highest number of arrests, with seven (7) apprehensions each.

They were followed by the Ifugao PPO with three (3) arrests, and the Abra PPO and Kalinga PPO with two (2) arrests each.

The Mountain Province PPO and Apayao PPO recorded one (1) arrest each.

The manhunt operation yielded the arrest of two (2) individuals listed as Most Wanted Persons (MWP).

One of them holds the No. 2 MWP position at the Provincial Level, while the other is ranked as the No. 2 MWP at the Station Level, both for the 2nd Quarter of CY 2023.

As a testament to the success of the intensified police presence, fifty-eight (58) municipalities across various provinces in the region, along with five (5) police stations in Baguio City, experienced a week free of crime incidents.

Zero crime incidents were recorded in twenty-five (25) out of twenty-seven (27) municipalities in Abra, four (4) out of six (6) municipalities in Apayao, ten (10) out of thirteen (13) municipalities in Benguet, seven (7) out of eleven (11) municipalities in Ifugao, eight (8) out of ten (10) municipalities in Mountain Province, and four (4) out of seven (7) municipalities in Kalinga.

Furthermore, among the ten police stations in Baguio City, the Naguilian Police Station (PS) 1, Camdas PS2, Loakan PS4, Aurora Hill (PS6), and Kennon Road PS8 reported zero crime incidents, contributing to the overall peace and security of the city.
